$15,908.00 2007 was another amazing year for Diane Crawford
and her supporters at Georgetown Yarn and Crafts. Diane's Knit for
the Cure weekend raised over $15,000.00 for breast cancer research.
I can't thank you enough for all your enthusiasm. Diane has also
offered her help to anyone wanting to host a KFTC day. Thank you
again Diane!!!
$11,500.00 Diane Crawford at Georgetown Yarns is an amazing
supporter of Knit for the Cure. This year Diane's Knit for the Cure
weekend (two days) raised over $11, 500.00. A huge thank you to
all who participated !!! You are an amazing group of knitters and
crocheters.
$20,970.00 With $8,200.00 being raised by Parry Sound Sewing
Centre's Knit for the Cure Day - Thank you so much Janet for organizing
this amazing event! We still have a few loose ends to wrap up before
the final tally, but it has been an awesome year for knitting and
fund raising. You are an inspiration!
$12,770.00 With almost $2.000.00 being raised by The Woollen
Earth at Jennifer's Knit for the Cure Day in December - Fantastic!!!
Cheques are coming in for "Show us a Sign". These will
be posted soon.
$10,532.00 With a tremendous $6,522.00 from Georgetown Yarn
& Crafts - Georgetown ON. Diane Crawford, again with the generous
help of a most amazing guild - Halton Hands in Motion Knitting &
Crochet Guild, hosted a Knit for the Cure Day and raised this phenomimal
sum! Fantastic!!! Thank you Diane and guild members and all who
attended!
$4,010.50 From July to September Knit for
the Cure raised $906.00, with many stores still running "Show
us a Sign" and will report at the end of October.
I was thrilled to receive two cheques from donators who had purchased
scarves knit by Mrs. Steenbergen who contributed her time,
yarn and skill as a knitter and designer to create scarves, that
were purchased, with all the proceeds going to The Canadian Breast
Cancer Foundation as part of Knit for the Cure. Thank you Mrs. Steenbergen.
Other funds came from:
Patricia's Yarn Cabin - Sidney, BC; Thank you Patricia and all
the knitters who contributed to Sidney's summer Knit Out.
Fiddlestick Knitting - Toronto, ON; Thank you Dorothy for your
on-going support and contributions.
Sales of "Scarves of Hope" and pattern sales at the Creative
Sewing and Needlework Festival; Thank you Pat for all your help.
$3,382.50 June 1-30 This is our really big news. We raised
$2,709.00 in the month of June alone!!! We're on a roll!!! Let's
keep it going!!!
The donations break down as follows:
1. $2,000.00 from The Halton Hands in Motion Knitting and Crochet
Guild along with Georgetown Yarn and Crafts, who raised this fabulous
amount as a result of their gallery show and raffle of two exquisite
afghans made by guild members. FANTASTIC!! KUDOS TO EVERYONE INVOLVED!!
2. $300.00 from the knitters at Uptown Yarns in Courtenay BC who
raised this donation in 1 day while knitting teddy bears for their
local hospital. GREAT GOING JENNIFER AND ALL 50 DEDICATED KNITTERS!
3. $278.00 from purchases of the Scarves of Hope booklet by stores.
We have sold over 600 booklets in 3 months. THANK YOU STORES!
4. $81.00 from Fiddlesticks Knitting who continues to donate $1.00
from the sale of scarf kits from the Scarves of Hope booklet and
Fiddlesticks Knitting Country Silk. Tremendous donation from 1 individual!!
THANK YOU DOROTHY!
5. $50.00 from Baadeck yarns who turned her design-a-hat competition
into a fund raiser. In order to vote for the hat design you liked
the best, you had to pay.25 to Knit for the Cure. This means that
200 people voted in Patricia's shop during the contest. A BIG THANK
YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED!

for new events and fund raising activities. We put the "fun"

A great start to our Knit for the Cure campaign. These funds
were raised from sales of our Scarves of Hope booklet, kits at the
DKC Frolic and the Spring CSNF. Many thanks to Fiddlesticks Knitting,
The Creative Sewing & Needlework Festival, and all the knitters
and knitting companies that supported us for April and May .
