HOW CAN I HELP

KNIT FOR THE CURE?

HOW CAN I HELP KNIT FOR THE CURE?

Hold a Knit for the Cure Day or

1. Knit (or crochet) something wonderful and contribute it to one of the many events happening across Canada. Please check our web-site www.knitforthecure.ca to find one close to your heart.

2. Knit lots of wonderful things and host an open house, or have a friend host one, to sell your treasures, and perhaps those of knitting friends, with proceeds going to Knit for the Cure. Non-knitting friends could supply other “goodies” or cookies, cakes, tea and so on. Please let us know what fabulous things you did at your open house.

3. Help your local yarn store to organize an open house, a fashion show, a design competition. Or bring a dessert to your next knit gathering and have members purchase “bites” with the proceeds going to Knit for the Cure. Again, please let us know, what you did, others would love to do the same.

4. Work through an organization in your community – hospital guilds, religious centres, service groups – Rotary, Lions Club, Lionettes etc to organize an event on a larger scale. Perhaps a silent auction of an afghan with squares contributed by knitting friends would work in your area, or a knitting bazaar as part of a regular event sponsored by the group. Or a kiosk some time, some where.

5. Organize a dance, card evening, any type of social event where participants must wear something hand knit or pay a fine. Or all winning hands must anti into the pot. Come up with your own ideas to raise funds through entertainment!

6. Visit our web-site regularly www.knitforthecure.ca and watch your donations grow.

7. Purchase original patterns from independent knitwear designers. Your purchase of an original pattern from participating designers, not only means a contribution to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, but also encourages designers everywhere to continue creating beautiful patterns for your enjoyment. Thank you for not requesting or accepting photocopies.

Organized by www.infiknit.com under the auspices of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
